This contest is open to all youth between ages 7 to 18 as of 1/1/2026. Each speech will be judged on the Danish System and scored using UConn 4-H Public Speaking score sheets by a panel of Judges. Appropriate blue, red, yellow, and white ribbons will be awarded to participants. Rosettes will be awarded to the top 4 speeches in each Division.
Speeches can be about any subject and shall be limited to the following:
Novice Class (ages 7 and 8 years old) – 3 to 5 minutes
Junior Class (ages 9 to 12 years old) – 3 to 5 minutes
Senior Class (ages 13 to 18 years old) – 5 to 8 minutes
Only the participant will receive free admission to the Fair on Sunday September 20, 2026. All others must pay admission.
Class 2: Novice (Ages 7 and 8 years old)
Class 2: Junior (Ages 9 to 12 years old)
Class 3: Senior (Ages 13 to 18 years old as of 1/1/2025)
